TMZ reports that Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, was "positively thrilled" with her late son's holographic "performance" at Coachella. Ms. Shakur didn't catch the headlining set live, instead watching Tupac's reincarnation via live stream.

Long-time Tupac collaborator, friend and fellow West Coast MC Dr. Dre sought Afeni's approval before going forward, receiving Shakur's blessing for the futuristic set. Keeping in good faith, Dre made a donation to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.

Amid strong reactions to the hologram, the original plans were revealed to include yet another resurrected rapper. TMZ notes that Nate Dogg, who passed away last year, was also set to appear in hologram form, only to be withdrawn at the last minute.
