Tupac Sales Spike in Wake of Coachella Hologram

Sales for Tupac Shakur‘s back catalog spiked following his virtual appearance during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg‘s headlining sets at the Coachella festival, Billboard reports. Sales for Shakur’s 1998 compilation Greatest Hits jumped up by 571 percent in the week following the debut of the “hologram” at Coachella, and other albums, such as All Eyez on Me and Me Against the World also increased significantly.
Unsurprisingly, the late rapper’s best-selling tracks since the Coachella appearance were the songs that were “performed” by the digital projection. “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” saw significant spikes thanks to footage of the virtual Tupac going viral, and Shakur’s signature hit, “California Love,” also spiked.
