Tool Add New Dates to Spring Trek
Tool have added more dates to their spring tour, with new gigs confirmed in Las Vegas, Austin, Houston and a handful of other cities.
Kicking off March 4th in Spokane, Washington, Tool previously announced West Coast shows in Portland, Reno and San Francisco, as well as two gigs south of the border in Mexico City and Veracruz. Now, Tool will also hit Fresno, Las Vegas, San Diego, Austin, Houston and Phoenix. You can check out a full list of dates and venues below.

Tickets for these new dates will go on sale Friday, February 14th at 10 a.m. local time, except Houston, which will go on sale noon local time. VIP pre-sale tickets will be available through the band’s fan site, Toolarmy, beginning February 13th at 10 a.m. PST.
It’s unclear whether this upcoming trek will offer fans long-awaited new music from the band, who haven’t released an album since 2006’s 10,000 Days. In July 2013, drummer Danny Carey said the band was working on a new record that could see release early this year. No release date, however, was subsequently announced.
In a recent chat with Rolling Stone, frontman Maynard James Keenan – who has been keeping himself busy with side projects A Perfect Circle and Puscifer – said the band’s songwriting process is a long and tedious one, adding he wasn’t sure where they were with new music. Still, the frontman seemed adamant about getting new material out to fans: “As an artist you don’t want to become a greatest hits version of yourself,” he said. “You want to push the boundaries. You want to figure out how can you challenge yourself to discover something new, discover something different about yourself. What are your limitations? What avenues can you push and expand? That is life. I don’t have any interest in coasting yet.”
