WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY? After detours that included witnesses discussing Lana Clarkson’s depression and police procedure, forensic science was back in the spotlight. James Pex, a forensic scientist from Oregon, was the latest expert to take the stand, as Spector’s team likely had to go all the way up to Oregon to find an expert who thinks Clarkson committed suicide. The testimony that followed felt like an 8th grade biology class, only a lot more boring, unless you enjoy listening to people talk about luminol for three hours. The jurors who managed to stay awake heard Pex say that Spector was standing too far away from Clarkson to have killed her.
IS THIS GOOD OR BAD FOR SPECTOR? Neither. The defense is trading jabs when they should really be delivering knockout punches. Things might get interesting soon, though, as Spector’s attorney hinted that Phil might take the stand in his own defense.
HAIR & WARDROBE UPDATE: Spector continues to alternate dark and light suits, yesterday opting for a gray suit with a light-green shirt.
