The Olms Serve Up Vintage Folk in ‘On the Line’ – Premiere

Pete Yorn and J.D. King team up for nostalgic clip

Singer-songwriter Pete Yorn and Los Angeles artist J.D. King's new collaboration, the Olms, celebrates the union of the old and the new. The duo's style is vintage in nature, right down to the Sixties-inspired folk-rock production and twangy, laid-back vocals.

The duo's new video for their single "On the Line" reflects this retro aesthetic. It features a compilation of short vintage clips pulled directly from home movies. The collage of clips is interspersed with psychedelic imagery.

"'On the Line' was tracked all to a mid-century mono tape machine and was written and recorded in one day by Pete and myself," King tells Rolling Stone. "The words, inspiration-wise, are pure Dadaism fueled by subconsciousness from the ether. . . The result: a mystical and fun experience."

The Olms' debut self-titled album is out June 4th on Harvest Records.
