The Nightwatchman ‘Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine’

Exclusive Video for Nightwatchman’s new single ‘Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine’

“‘Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine’ is a song about my new steel string guitar,” Tom Morello says of his latest single as the Nightwatchman. “Mick Jones of The Clash referred to his main guitar as a ‘heart attack machine’ and I named my new jet black acoustic axe ‘Black Spartacus’.” The guitar is front and center in the video, which was filmed at Henson Studios in Los Angeles. “Sometimes when you go into battle to smite the foes of justice, your guitar is your best companion at the barricades,” says Morello. “Sometimes it’s your ONLY companion, so you better be able to count on each other. Black Spartacus and I have each others’ back, so foes of justice better start trembling in their boots.”

“Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine” is taken from the Nightwatchman’s fourth studio record World Wide Rebel Songs, which will hit stores on August 30th. The album, which was produced by Morello, will be the first Nightwatchman record to feature backing by the full electric band the Freedom Fighter Orchestra.
