On the surface, the Mynabirds’ soulful, classic-rock spin on indie-pop may not seem to lend itself to the piecemeal nature of remixing, but these two reworkings of “Body of Work” and “Radiator Sister” – from Dntel and Field Days, respectively – speak to frontwoman Laura Burhenn’s keen ear for melody. Both tracks, along with four others, will appear on Generals: Remixed, out July 30th on Saddle Creek (though if you pre-order now, a copy will arrive at your door on July 16th with a digital download).

Dntel turns in a characteristically sparse and glitchy rendition of “Body of Work,” which lets Burhenn’s enchanting vocals ride above a soft four-on-the-floor beat, grooving bleeps and scattered ticks and clicks. Meanwhile, on “Radiator Sister,” Field Days taps into the pop-rock bubbling beneath the Mynabirds’ tunes, lacing the track with bounding drum fills and sun-drenched synths and guitar riffs.
