The Killers Cut Manchester Gig Short After Four Songs

The Killers abruptly cut off their show in England’s Manchester Arena last night after just four songs, the Manchester Evening News reports, and will cancel tonight’s gig due to frontman Brandon Flowers’ sore throat.
After playing their third song, the Hot Fuss track “Smile Like You Mean It” at Tuesday’s show, Flowers remarked aloud that his voice was gone. The band started the next song, but Flowers motioned to the group that he couldn’t continue and sang very little on the track. They left the stage and an announcement was made soon after. The crowd reportedly took the news well, with few boos.
“Manchester, we started something we couldn’t finish and we’re so, so sorry,” the band later wrote in a message posted on Facebook. “Working on rescheduling tonight and tomorrow’s shows. Will let you know new dates ASAP.”
A spokeperson for the Manchester Arena said, “Lead singer Brandon Flowers had to take a break early into Tuesday evening’s performance after complaining of a sore throat. Unfortunately, he was unable to continue with the rest of the show.”
The band plans to reschedule both shows for next year.
