Tedeschi Trucks Band Jam Through ‘The Storm’ – Premiere

Blues-rockers let song shine in simple black-and-white clip

“‘The Storm’ is a song where you’re sitting on the floor, and you have a great guitar sound, and you’re thinking, ‘You know what, let’s just be unafraid to crank this shit up,'” says Derek Trucks of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s new song. “It’s inspired by Jack Owens and Skip James, that Betonia County, Mississippi blues sound. But it’s also that Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, just air-it-out thing.”

The track appears on Tedeschi Trucks Band’s latest roots-rock album, Made Up Mind. Its video features Trucks – who is also a member of the Allman Brothers Band and the Derek Trucks Band – jamming on his guitar in the back of a van with other band members, including his wife, Grammy-nominated vocalist Susan Tedeschi.

“We knew we wanted to be a little bit bolder with this record, not be afraid to do whatever we felt was really great,” says Tedeschi. “We’re all friends and family.  Now we’re finally making the music we want to make.”
