The Struts recruited Kesha for a lively new version of their single “Body Talks.” The pop artist, a longtime fan of the band, adds a smooth sassiness to the song, belting and speak-singing opposite frontman Luke Spiller.
The glam-rock band also marked the collaboration with a colorful, slightly surreal video. Spiller dances around a red backdrop with a cane, while Kesha sits on a gold throne and shouts through a megaphone. The duo utilize a number of randomly painted props, including bananas, pyramids, roosters, skulls, ice cream cones and lollipops.
“They are one of my favorite current bands keeping the spirit of classic rock and roll alive with their wild energy and sexy style,” Kesha enthused in a statement. “It’s a song about my favorite activity: boogieing.”
Both “Body Talks” and the recently issued “Primadonna Like Me” will appear on the Struts’ upcoming second LP, which follows their 2014 debut, Everybody Wants. The band recently wrapped a tour supporting Foo Fighters; their own headlining “Body Talks Tour” launches September 21st in Detroit, Michigan.
