Stream Ghostface Killah and BadBadNotGood’s Jazz-Rap Album ‘Sour Soul’

Nearly 22 years after Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Ghostface Killah remains as prolific as ever. In 2014, he appeared on a pair of albums – the Wu-Tang Clan reunion LP A Better Tomorrow and his 36 Seasons collaboration with the Revelations – and the Fishscale rapper shows no signs of slowing down thanks to a new disc titled Sour Soul that the rapper recorded with Toronto jazz-trio BadBadNotGood. That album is due out February 24th, but you can stream Ghostface’s latest now:

Sour Soul was produced by BadBadNotGood and Frank Dukes, who also recently co-produced “No Tellin'” off Drake’s surprise If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. The 12-track album also features appearances by Danny Brown (“Six Degrees”), MF Doom (“Ray Gun”) plus rappers Elzhi and Tree.

The GFK/BBNG tandem previously released a trippy, retro-futuristic music video for “Ray Gun,” the latest track in a long-running-but-sporadic collaboration between Ghostface and MF Doom, two rappers that don Marvel masks; the former Iron Man, the latter Dr. Doom. A rumored Doomstarks album has been on the back burner since the duo dropped their single “Victory Laps” in 2011, but in a Reddit interview this past December, Ghostfaced promised that the long-delayed LP would finally arrive this year.

In addition to Sour Soul and the Doomstarks LP, 2015 might see yet another album sporting Ghostface’s name: Wu-Tang Clan’s one-copy-only Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. Last month, Wu mastermind RZA announced that he teamed with online auction site Paddle8 to sell the item, which the producer called “a piece of modern art,” but no auction date has been set yet. Ghostface also told Vulture that a sequel to his 2013 album Twelve Reasons to Die should be out this spring, and his Supreme Clientele II, the follow-up to his 2000 classic, is around “90 percent done.”
