Stones, Dylan In Top Ten

In chart news, the Rolling Stones and Bob
Dylan
have re-entered the U.S. pop charts with their new
releases at No.3 and No.10, respectively.

Bridges to Babylon, the Stones’ latest, marks the 39th
time the band has cracked the charts with an album. Bridges to
Babylon
sold nearly 160,000 copies in the week ending Oct.
5.

Dylan’s critically acclaimed Time Out of Mind is his
first album to make the Top 10 since 1979’s Slow Train
Coming
.

Time Out Of Mind isn’t only selling well in the States;
it also charted in the Top 10 in the U.K., Germany and Sweden.
Bridges to Babylon came in at No. 1 on
Billboard’s “Eurocharts.”

Caveat: Both classic rockers were outdone by LeAnn
Rimes’
latest release, You Light Up My Life,
which re-claimed the No.1 slot. Rimes is 15 years old — less than
one-third the age of the Stones and Dylan.
