See Steve Perry Showcase Celebratory ‘We’re Still Here’ in New Video
Steve Perry has shared his new video for “We’re Still Here,” the latest single preceding Traces, the former Journey singer’s first solo album in 24 years.
Like the singer’s previous video for “No More Cryin’,” “We’re Still Here” finds Perry and his backing band performing the Traces track that “celebrates the continuity of life and a sense of camaraderie with a new generation” in an intimate setting
Perry said of “We’re Still Here” in a statement, “This is one of my most favorite songs on Traces because it speaks of the inclusiveness of us being together in the same place at the same time, and to not take lightly the fact that ‘we’re still here.'”
Perry previously unveiled “No More Cryin'” and “No Erasin’” from Traces, due out October 5th and the singer’s first solo album since 1994’s For the Love of Strange Medicine, which arrived four years before he permanently parted ways with Journey.
“Putting 30 years into 10 songs has certainly been an emotional experience for me,” Perry said of Traces in a statement. “I started writing and recording these songs with the creative freedom that I was the only one who would ever hear them. Along the way, I rediscovered my love for music. Each track represents traces of my past, but is also a hopeful look into the future. I invite you to listen with an open heart.”
