Relating to previous briefs, New York's Sonic
Youth has added three albums to the two remaining on its
contract with DGC/Geffen.
According to the band's Thurston Moore, the
next DGC title, due in late March, will be a song-oriented affair,
a departure from the two primarily instrumental budget-priced EPs
the band has released on its SYR imprint.
Sonic Youth will spotlight its instrumental material at a Nov.
21 concert at Avery Fisher Hall in New York's
Lincoln Center (a historic gig, since only a handful of rock acts
have played the classical venue). In January, SYR, which is
distributed by San Francisco's Revolver, will
release the band's SYR3.
