On his single “This Song Is Called Ragged,” Aussie skate rat Jonathan Boulet combines frantic percussion and tribal rhythms with warmly engaging melodies. With this remix, Jonti reworks Boulet’s whimsical sounds into something more danceable, but just as intricately percussive.
“‘This Song Is Called Ragged’ is a very insistent song, it kind of wants to hurry through the sections and finish up as soon as possible. I love how Jonti just chilled the whole thing out and dipped it in his tub of groove,” says Boulet. “He brought to the surface a lot of the sounds and little sonic ear candies that I loved from the original and that mostly get lost in the shit-storm of layers.”
