Sleigh Bells Get Positively Loud in ‘Bitter Rivals’ – Album Premiere

“We’re both so psyched,” Sleigh Bells guitarist-producer Derek E. Miller tells Rolling Stone. Six months after they finished tracking their new album, Bitter Rivals, the shred-pop duo is gearing up to release it on October 8th on Mom + Pop. And here’s some good news if you don’t feel like waiting until then: you can hear the whole album right now, exclusively at RollingStone.com.
The new album comes less than two years after 2012’s Reign of Terror, which is how Sleigh Bells like it. “I can’t just sit on our records,” says Miller. “The only way for us to move forward creatively is to keep making them and putting them out.”
‘Bitter Rivals’: Go Inside Sleigh Bells’ Lean, Mean New Album
The band will kick off its fall tour on Friday, October 4th, in Pittsburgh. “Even though our music is bombastic and tough and abrasive, this record is super positive,” says singer Alexis Krauss. “I can’t tell you how excited I am to get onstage and blast these songs, like ‘Bitter Rivals’ or ‘Tiger Kit’ or ‘Young Legends,’ that just feel so conducive to that celebratory experience that our live shows are.”
