See Slayer’s Sinister ‘Pride in Prejudice’ Video
It doesn’t take long for the blood to start flowing in Slayer‘s “Pride in Prejudice” clip. Band members perform the track in a snowy field, soundtracking a vicious parallel plot filled with gruesome killings and hand-to-hand combat.
The “Pride in Prejudice” video is the final installment of a trilogy of visuals from Slayer’s Repentless album, which came out last year. Guitarist Kerry King referred to the latest clip as his “favorite” of the three. “Slayer is notorious for letting the artist be the artist, the producer be the producer, and the director be the director,” King said. “By doing this we get a completely unique perspective that never really strays far from our own.”
“I’m particularly excited about this third video, because we played with stylistic differences with the trilogy,” director BJ McDonnell added. “Where one video plays like an action film, this third one is more of a dramatic piece,” he continued. “The final story takes us into a world that is especially sinister in tone, with the dark and the light colliding. The conclusion is visually cinematic and harsh.”
Slayer kick off a fall tour with Anthrax and Death Angel on Friday in Cleveland.
