See Kings of Leon’s Intimate New ‘Walls’ Video
Caleb Followill takes a trip without ever getting up in the video for Kings of Leon‘s “Walls,” the title track of their upcoming album. The camera zooms in on him as he plays the song on an acoustic guitar in a purple-walled room, eventually pulling in close on his face. When the view widens, he begins moving and the walls come down to reveal he’s been on a journey while singing the mellow, folkish number.
The group recorded the album, which comes out October 14th, with producer Markus Dravs (Arcade Fire, Florence and the Machine) in Los Angeles. Dravs in turn gave the group a fresh perspective on their sound.
“He just said things that nobody had ever said to us,” Jared Fallowill recently told Billboard. “Like, ‘I don’t like that song, that’s not good, we can move on from that.'” He also said that the producer made them write songs on the spur of the moment: “He’d be like, ‘OK, now play it like the Sex Pistols.’ And then you’ve turned a slow song into a fast one.”
