See Kendrick Lamar, the Weeknd Crash Epic Yams Day Concert

A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator, Danny Brown more honor late producer A$AP Yams with second annual show

Kendrick Lamar and the Weeknd stormed the already stacked Yams Day concert at the Theater at Madison Garden Wednesday, joining A$AP Rocky, Danny Brown and more, who gathered to honor the late A$AP Yams.

A fan-shot video captured Lamar unleashing a devastating rendition of “m.A.A.d city” from his 2012 album, good kid, m.A.A.d city. Lamar kept the moshing crowd on a string throughout his bombastic performance, allowing them to play hype man as the beat rattled through the speakers.

The Weeknd, meanwhile, delivered a quick but exciting snippet of his Future collaboration, “Low Life,” flipping the end of the hook to pay tribute to Yams.

A$AP Rocky also took the stage to honor his late friend, busting out his emphatic verse from “Telephone Calls,” a posse cut from A$AP Mob’s 2016 compilation, Cozy Tapes, Vol. 1.

The second annual Yams Day concert also featured performances from Tyler, the Creator, A$AP Ferg, Young Thug, Cam’Ron, Joey Badass, Lil Uzi Vert and more. Yams died in 2015 of an accidental overdose
