See Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick’s ‘Trolls’ in First Trailer

Clip gives glimpses of Gwen Stefani, Russell Brand and Zooey Deschanel’s troll counterparts

DreamWorks has released the first trailer for their forthcoming animated movie Trolls. The film features the voices of Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Gwen Stefani, Jeffrey Tambor, Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Zooey Deschanel and others.

In the film’s first trailer, Branch (voiced by Timberlake) introduces himself. The greyish-colored troll appears to be a bit of a curmudgeon who lives in a fortified bunker. Why? “Because right outside my door lurks a nightmare named Poppy.”

Princess Poppy (voiced by Kendrick), however, appears to be less of a nightmare and more a happy-go-lucky type. She’s the brightly colored trolls’ leader. Despite her positivity, trouble abounds in the form of Bergens, who apparently dine on trolls. The trailer also gives sneak peeks at some of the other voice stars – including Deschanel, Brand, Corden and Stefani – and their troll counterparts.

Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” soundtracks the clip. The singer was tapped to write and perform new songs for the film, and serves as executive music producer. Timberlake and his costar Kendrick recently teamed up to sing Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” during a footage screening of Trolls before the Cannes Film Festival.

The Mike Mitchell-directed film opens on November 4th.
