Ty Segall recruits famous friends like Fred Armisen, Jack Black and Henry Rollins for the rocker’s strange new “Break a Guitar” video.
The video opens with a drooling Armisen in full karate attire kicking a guitar to pieces and only gets more bizarre from there: In a kaleidoscopic space vacuum, Black and Rollins smash acoustic guitars as they spiral around Segall and his band.
“Break a Guitar” comes to a gruesome conclusion in an all-white room, where Segall’s head literally explodes, Scanners-style, while typing on a laptop.

The song is culled from Segall’s latest LP, a self-titled affair that the guitarist released in January. Ty Segall, the rocker’s 10th studio album over a decade-long span, arrived just a year after 2016’s Emotional Mugger.
Segall will spend the summer months touring in support of his new LP, including a three-night stand at Brooklyn’s Warsaw and sets at Oregon’s Pickathon and Los Angeles’ FYF Fest.
