See Grimes as Rhinestone Cowgirl in ‘California’ Video

Grimes dances around Los Angeles and Paris in the colorful clip for single “California.” The track appears on her fourth album Art Angels, which was released last November.

Grimes directed the clip for the breezy song. In it, she dances around a studio filled with sculptures, a color-blocked basketball court and onstage as a rhinestone cowgirl donning an American flag bustier and joined by a mermaid and a host of other flamboyant friends played by Purity Ring’s Megan James, HANA, model Eric Cheng, Born Gold and her brother Mac Boucher.

Following her sets at Coachella, Grimes stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to transform the set into a neon-lit dreamscape as she sang “Flesh Without Blood.” This month, she’ll head out on tour as Florence and the Machine’s opening act before appearing at several summer festivals, including Hangout, Sasquatch, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and FYF.
