The video for Future‘s “Colossal,” a track with a bluesy piano hook off his DS2 album, shows him flying in planes, driving a Rolls Royce and hanging with his friends. Drake, Puff Daddy, Chief Keef and DJ Khaled all make appearances in the clip.
The rapper recorded the track with producer Zaytoven, with whom Future previously made the Beast Mode mixtape earlier this year. The producer told The Boombox earlier this year that he’d been collaborating with the rapper, dating back to his 2011 Dirty Sprite mixtape. When they began working on this year’s mixtape, the producer estimated he only had to do two or three days’ worth of work. “It would blow your mind,” he said.
Zaytoven, who worked on Usher’s Grammy-winning 2010 album Raymond v. Raymond and has worked with Nicki Minaj and Migos, also said that when he worked with Future, he’d play a beat and the rapper would immediately come up with the song’s lyrics. “We might’ve gotten 40 songs done as we were putting this tape together,” he said. “That’s us doing songs back-to-back. I make a beat, he raps to it. … And we’d do it all over again. We might do 10 songs a day.”
In other Future news, the rapper recently put out “Last Breath,” his inspiring contribution to the Creed soundtrack. The film, which stars Michael B. Jordan as the son of Rocky Balboa’s adversary Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies, comes out November 25th.
