SBTRKT, The-Dream Rise and Shine on ‘Good Morning’

British producer and DJ SBTRKT has teamed with The-Dream for a rapturous new single, “Good Morning,” which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. The song is also now available as a free download.

The song finds the R&B crooner/super-producer delivering an empowering vocal performance over a beatific blare reminiscent of warped fanfare horns. From there, “Good Morning” moves steadily, incorporating washed out synths and minimal percussion, and building until the beat finally drops — then deftly, quickly recedes.

“Good Morning” marks SBTRKT’s first new song since 2014. That year he released his second album, Wonder Where We Landed — which featured collaborations with Ezra Koenig, Caroline Polachek, A$AP Ferg, Jessie Ware and others — as well as a collection of instrumentals released as the Transitions series.
