Ronnie Wood Wants Rolling Stones to Play Glastonbury

As the Rolling Stones continue to weigh their options for a 2013 tour, Ronnie Wood already has his sights set on Glastonbury. According to The Independent, the guitarist is itching to follow up the Stones’ string of 50th anniversary shows by playing the massive U.K. festival. “Wouldn’t it be nice. We’ve got a meeting next month and that’s going to be my first question to them,” he said. Wood made clear he’s quite determined. “It’s something I’ve always been interested in,” he said. “I’m going to twist their arms.”
2013’s Hottest Tours: Rolling Stones
The recently-married guitarist didn’t reveal much about the band’s touring plans, but noted the Stones were in good form after the 50th anniversary shows and hinted when he’d like to hit the road. “I’ve got lots of high hopes this year, now that we’re all rehearsed,” he said. “Let’s get it cracking this summer!”
After a string of shows in London, New York and New Jersey last fall, the Rolling Stones were rumored to be headlining this year’s Coachella, but the buzz buzz fizzled last month. Glastonbury 2013 is set for June 26th through 30th.
