The Rolling Stones played their first show in five years yesterday, blowing through a 70-minute warm-up set for an crowd of 600 in the Paris club La Trabendo, according to multiple reports. The band made 350 tickets available for the show, at about $20 each.
The rockers played 12 songs spanning their career, including the classics “Tumbling Dice,” “Midnight Rambler” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and the new song “Doom and Gloom,” which comes from the band’s new greatest his collection GRRR!, due November 13th.
The intimate gig was a test run of sorts for four much bigger shows to come: the Stones play a pair of dates November 25th and 29th at London’s O2 Arena, and two more shows December 13th and 15th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The London shows sold out in just seven minutes. Tickets go on sale today at noon EST for the Newark shows.
