Rolling Stone Live: Nicole Atkins Blends Blues and Soft Rock in New Songs
Singer-songwriter performs tunes from 'Mondo Amore,' plus a Roy Orbison cover

Singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins came by the Rolling Stone office recently to play a few songs from her brand new album Mondo Amore, as well as a cover of the Roy Orbison classic “Crying.” After her set, Atkins speculated on how her father’s love of old blues and her mother’s taste for soft rock resulted in her particular sound, and explained how she stole some stage moves from the Black Keys when she toured with them last year.
