Rick Ross Cancels Tour Dates Over Gang Threats

Rick Ross has canceled his shows in Charlotte and Greensboro, North Carolina, this weekend after receiving death threats from the Gangster Disciples gang, The Charlotte Observer reports. The North Carolina chapter of the gang warned Ross against visiting the area in a YouTube video, seemingly because the rapper had “dishonored” gang leader Larry Hoover in his track “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” and disrespected their gang symbol by using a similar design on his Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape. The North Carolina video follows a recent string of similar clips, like one from a Florida chapter also threatening Ross.

Ross still has a show set for Sunday in Nashville. Promoter Live Nation gave no reason for the cancellations, but tickets will be refunded starting today.
