Rick Ross Arrested in Georgia on Marijuana Charges

Rapper Rick Ross is facing a misdemeanor marijuana charge following an arrest in Georgia, WSB-TV reports. He is still being processed into the Fayette County Jail.

Ross had been pulled over by police for a window tint violation, which is when the officer reportedly smelled and later located marijuana in his Bentley. The arrest took place in the Atlanta metro area.

The Maybach Music Group founder was arrested in North Carolina a year ago for not appearing at a hearing for a previous marijuana charge from 2013. He was taken into custody immediately following a performance at the 2014 SuperJam in Greensboro, NC and later released on $1,000 bail.

Ross has faced two other drug charges in recent years. In 2011, he was charged with a similar misdemeanor marijuana charge in Louisiana, and in 2008, he was arrested for not only marijuana possession but for carrying a concealed firearm, as well. Back in 2011, he told Rolling Stone that the longest he has gone without being stoned had been a flight to South Africa.

Ross released two albums last year: March’s Mastermind and November’s Hood Billionaire. In between albums, the rapper continued to make numerous guest appearances; he contributed verses to Chris Brown’s single “New Flame,” Diddy’s star-studded “Big Homie” and a cut about the turmoil in Ferguson following Michael Brown’s murder called “Don’t Shoot.” In June, he served as a life coach in an advice column for Rolling Stone.
