Red Hot Chili Peppers Expand 2017 North American Tour
Red Hot Chili Peppers expanded their 2017 North American tour behind their latest LP, The Getaway, to include 27 additional dates. The trek, which kicks off January 5th in San Antonio, Texas, now includes concerts throughout the spring; the new leg begins April 12th in Washington D.C. and concludes June 30th in Chicago.
Tickets go on sale November 11th. Every ticket purchase includes either a standard physical or standard digital copy of The Getaway, the band’s Danger Mouse-produced 11th LP, which came out in June.
The quartet previously announced Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue as openers for the first leg, with former Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons opening for their January dates.
In September, Red Hot Chili Peppers released a wacky video for “Go Robot,” which found frontman Anthony Kiedis strutting around New York City covered in white paint and wearing a bowler hat – a reference to Tony Manero, John Travolta’s character in Saturday Night Fever.
