Radiohead: April 1st Evening Show, BBC Radio Theater

BBC Radio Theatre, Evening Show
April 1st, 2008
Radiohead have been known to run through a big chunk of their entire catalog while prepping to go out on the road. When they took a break from rehearsing for their world tour to play this miniset on the BBC, they must have been in the midst of the OK Computer material, because the seminal 1997 album takes up thirty percent of the set list. The usually powerful “Airbag” comes off a bit limp, but “Lucky” and “The Tourist” sound as fresh and spooky as they did a decade ago. The new material shines the brightest, particularly “Nude” — which features a beautiful vocal coda by Thom Yorke. Bring on the tour!
