Queens Of The Stone Age to Headline ‘Rolling Stone’ South By Southwest Concert

Queens Of The Stone Age will headline Rolling Stone‘s SXSW kick off concert on March 16th at La Zona Rosa in Austin, Texas, on a the bill with The Black Angels, J Mascis, Mini Mansion and Beast Make Bomb, the winners of the Converse Get Out Of The Garage Contest.

This the second year Rolling Stone has thrown a party at SXSW.  Last year’s highlights included Low Anthem, Courtyard Hounds, Titus Andronicus and The Whigs.

Queens Of The Stone Age Debut Album Reviewed

The show coincides with the release of an expanded edition of Queens of the Stone Age’s debut album. On tour the group will play the disc straight through, in addition to B-sides and rarities from their earliest days and select songs from the rest of their career.

Queens Of The Stone Age have focusing on side projects for the past few years – though last year they did a series of shows.The group has been contemplating cutting new material over the past year. “I have ideas already, absolutely,” Queens frontman Josh Homme told Rolling Stone last August. “It’s all about wiggling hips. The music is gonna go further down that strange and lovely path of Era Vulgaris.”
