Puscifer have announced "Round 2" of their 'Money Shot' tour, with 21 dates scheduled for 2016

Puscifer will kick off “Round 2” of their Money Shot tour on March 17th with a performance in Riverside, California. The band has booked 21 new shows for 2016, with additional dates to be announced in early January.

“This show is so much more than just a band regurgitating songs,” singer Maynard James Keenan says of the band’s live approach, which incorporates video and theatrical elements, in a statement. “This is a multi-media performance unlike anything you’ve ever witnessed. There are those who know, and there are those who will know soon enough.”

Puscifer’s latest LP, Money Shot, finds the band toning down the raunchy humor and sonic wackiness of their previous work in favor of a darker, more refined approach. Keenan told told Rolling Stone he can “see the humor all the way through it, even in the heavier tracks. On our earlier stuff, we completely separated it – ‘Cuntry Boner’ over here, and then ‘Indigo Children’ over here. Here, they’ve been integrated more. It’s like a fine wine that’s been aging in a large cask for two years, instead of being right out of the press and into the bottle.”

The frontman also joked – or did he? – about the possibility of doing a full set of AC/DC covers onstage. “Now, I wouldn’t do that – and if we did that every night, then that would be boring,” he said. “But to do it one or two nights on a tour, when no one knew it was coming? You’d get a bunch of people who’d be pissed off because we didn’t do any songs from the album, but you’d get a bunch more people who were like, ‘We got to see that thing!’ And that’s what life is, assholes! It’s change, it’s chaos — it’s not what you expect and what you think you deserve.”

Meanwhile, while fans of Keenan’s other band, Tool, wait for the prog-metal veterans to finish their long-awaited fifth LP, the band has announced a run of live dates for January.
