Cher, who stars with Christina Aguilera in the upcoming movie Burlesque, praised the singer’s acting skills Monday night. “The scenes that she and I had together, I really enjoyed, and I really believe that she’s got definite chops,” Cher said. “We worked well together. Gerry Rafferty Gravely Ill After Kidney Failure

Singer Gerry Rafferty is gravely ill after suffering kidney failure. Doctors told his fiancee that Rafferty, who has struggled with alcoholism, had little chance of survival, but his condition improved when the life support machine he’d been placed on was switched off. Best known for his 1978 hit “Baker Street,” Rafferty was also a singer in Steeler’s Wheel, whose early-’70s hit “Stuck in the Middle With You” was featured in a gruesome scene in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.
