Pink Recalls Acting Debut in ‘Thanks for Sharing’ – Premiere

‘I’m a newbie, so I sit and watch,’ singer says

One of the highlights of Thanks for Sharing, which came out this past September, was Pink (a.k.a. Alecia Moore)’s performance. Now, ahead of the VOD release on January 3rd and the Blu-ray and DVD release of the film on January 7th, you can get a closer look at the singer’s work in it.

Pink and More of 2013’s Hottest Tours

In this behind-the-scenes clip from the making of the movie, which stars Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, and Gwyneth Paltrow, the cast and crew share what it was like to work with Pink. Director Stuart Blumberg – best known for co-writing the Golden Globe Award-winning film The Kids Are All Right reveals he was thinking of the singer when he created the character she plays. “She’s just that tough girl who you kind of love but who’s got that soft center,” Blumberg says of Pink’s persona.

Pink shows that softer side in the short documentary, talking about her daunting experience playing the role of Dede. “For me to go onstage and perform in front of 30,000 people – I could do it with my eyes closed. It’s what I do. I can sing the same song with the same emotion 48,000 times and people are like, ‘Wow, how does she do that?’ But I get on a film set and I don’t even remember how to talk,” Moore says. “I’m a newbie, so I sit behind the camera and just watch. They’re just naturals. These people are so talented. It’s just incredible to watch.”
