Pearl Jam Tour Cyberspace

2003 bootleg series will be available online

Pearl Jam will reprise their exhaustive 2000 official bootleg series this year as they tour the world behind Riot Act, but they’ve streamlined the process considerably. Starting with the first date, February 8th in Brisbane, the shows will be available for download the next day.

The band’s last tour, in support of Binaural, resulted in seventy-two double-disc sets that flooded record stores in late 2000 and early 2001. This time, instead, they’ve taken a page from Phish, who employed a similar online setup to peddle tapes of their reunion gigs earlier this month. The difference is that, through, fans who sign up to buy the concert tapes — $14.98 each or $224.70 for the first set of fifteen — will not only be able to download the complete unmastered show immediately but will also get a mastered two-disc set in the mail a week later.

Pearl Jam kick off the North American leg of their tour April 1st in Denver, and it’s now scheduled through a two-night stand at New York’s Madison Square Garden July 7th and 8th.
