Peaches Enlists Kim Gordon, Feist, Butt Plug for New Album ‘Rub’

Peaches, the queen of filthy electropunk, has enlisted Kim Gordon and Feist for her new album Rub, her first since 2009’s I Feel Cream.
Set for release September 25th, Rub was recorded last year in Peaches’ Los Angeles garage studio with longtime collaborator Vice Cooler. The singer will embark on a North American tour beginning October 1st at Solana Beach, CA’s Belly Up Tavern.
“After six years, I was excited about my lyrics again, about what Peaches was,” the artist said in a statement. “I felt more comfortable living out any idea I wanted to try. We spent ten hours a day making beats, and whatever stuck, I would write on and develop. The only agenda was to make the best album we could.”
As a preview of what’s to come, Peaches has released the self-directed video for “Light in Places,” which features performance artist/aerialist Empress Stah showcasing her “laser butt plug” act. “Liberate, en masse/Eliminate the class/All humans, free at last/So much beauty coming out of my ass,” Peaches sings on the track, which is as NSFW as the new clip.
Though she took a lengthy break between full-length albums, the artist has kept herself busy in the interim. She starred in a one-woman production of Jesus Christ Superstar titled Peaches Christ Superstar as well as the rock opera Peaches Does Herself. Earlier this month, she released the book What Else Is in the Teaches of Peaches.
