Paul McCartney has extended his One on One Tour into the summer. The North American leg of the trek, which has seen the rock legend perform Beatles classics solo for the first time ever while also mining the deeper tracks in his own vast catalog, was scheduled to end May 5th in Minneapolis; instead, after a jaunt through Europe, McCartney will return stateside for at least eight more One on One gigs.
After focusing on the West Coast and middle America to perform in cities he hasn’t played in decades, McCartney will resume his One on One tour July 8th in Milwaukee before heading east, including an August 7th concert at East Rutherford, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. The current itinerary has McCartney’s trek ending August 17th in Cleveland, Ohio.
The One on One Tour has so far seen McCartney’s debut solo renditions of the Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” and “Love Me Do” alongside the first performances of tracks like “You Won’t See Me,” “The Fool on the Hill” and the Quarrymen’s “In Spite of All Danger” in over a decade, plus his “FourFiveSeconds” collaboration with Rihanna and Kanye West.
At McCartney’s Seattle show Sunday, he welcomed fellow bassist and “Sirvana” member Krist Novoselic to the stage to perform “Helter Skelter.” McCartney is also rumored to be participating in the Indio, California mega-concert alongside the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Who and Roger Waters.
