R&B singer Patti LaBelle has been sued for the second time this year for a dispute with a stranger. New Yorker Roseanna Monk claims the singer berated her when her toddler wandered a few feet away in an apartment lobby as the mother struggled with her luggage. When Monk told LaBelle it was none of her business, the singer allegedly threw water at the woman and tried to attack her.

The incident occurred late last year in the lobby of a building where Monk and her husband live; LaBelle was staying in an apartment there during her appearance in the Broadway play Fela! The Monk family say they filed a report with police, but no arrest was made. The singer’s lawyers and publicist have yet to respond to the allegations.

This is the second time in recent months LaBelle has been accused of aggressive behavior. In March, her bodyguards allegedly had an altercation with a U.S. Military Academy cadet in a Houston airport. LaBelle countersued, claiming the cadet was drunk and used racial slurs in the incident.
