Patrick Stump Sings Mash-Up of the Record Of The Year Grammy Nominees

A couple of weeks ago Patrick Stump posted this a cappella medley of songs nominated for Record of the Year – featuring his take on Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now,” “Jay-Z’s “Empire State Of Mind,” Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie,” Cee Lo’s “Fuck You” and B.o.B.’s “Nothin’ On You.”
The recent flood of Stump Internet postings is part of the marketing strategy for his upcoming solo debut LP Soul Punk, which hits stores next month. We chatted with Stump last year, and he told us to not expect a Fall Out Boy reunion anytime soon. “When you look at what everybody is doing it’s pretty obvious that there are some actual legitimate creative differences,” he said. “We’re still friends though. We may be itching in a few years, who knows? I also have no idea what’s going to happen with [Pete Wentz’s band] Black Cards or with [Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman’s group] The Damned Things. I think those are two very viable acts. Hopefully my thing is cool too and has some sort of a audience outside of Fall Out Boy fans.”
