Palma Violets Take a Wild Ride Down ‘Rattlesnake Highway’ – Premiere

London rockers draw upon their outrageous live show in new clip

London upstart rockers Palma Violets released their debut LP, 180, back in March on Rough Trade Records. They’ve also set a slate of Stateside shows for this fall, kicking off in Philadelphia on October 8th.

Now you can take an exclusive first look at the band’s new black-and-white clip for the rambunctious album cut “Rattlesnake Highway.” Directed by Jesus and Mary Chain bassist Doug Hart, the clip offers a taste of Palma Violets’ raucous live show using unique fan-shot footage that’s intercut with some outrageous archival footage of Pentecostal snake handlers.

“Most of the footage was taken by the fans at Palma Violets shows,” drummer Will Doyle tells Rolling Stone. “We wanted to do a video for them, every single one of them who’d been there dancing, screaming, contributing to the cacophony and chaos. Hopefully they will get some of that from the vid and join us on the Rattlesnake Rodeo Tour.”
