Paisley Park to Honor Prince’s Legacy With Four-Day 2017 Event
Prince‘s complex-turned-museum Paisley Park will mark the one-year anniversary of the late icon’s death with the four-day Celebration 2017 that will honor the life and legacy of Prince.
Prince-affiliated acts like the reunited Revolution, Morris Day & The Time, New Power Generation and Liv Warfield & Shelby J with members of 3rdEyeGirl will perform over the course of the four-day event, taking place from April 20th to 23rd at the singer’s Chanhassen, Minnesota residence.
“Bringing together musicians, creative personnel, special guests and friends who worked closest with Prince and knew him best, these four days will feature live music, panel discussions and presentations on Prince’s tremendous talent, influence and importance as a composer, musician, producer, live performer and filmmaker,” Celebration 2017 organizers wrote.
General admission and VIP tickets are available to purchase now through the Paisley Park site, with the latter including photo and autograph opportunities with the artists involved, on-site parking and a meal pass.
Paisley Park officially opened as a museum dedicated to Prince on October 28th, the same day the mayor of Chanhassen declared “Paisley Park Day” in the Minnesota city.
The first posthumous Prince release, the greatest hits collection Prince 4Ever, was released on November 22nd. The album featured the never-officially-released “Moonbeam Levels,” which Prince recorded in 1982 while working on 1999.
Prince’s estate also announced that the next release from the singer’s stocked vaults would be a Purple Rain reissue featuring an additional disc of unreleased material.
