Outkast Outline Half of 40 Planned Tour Dates for 2014
Shortly after Outkast confirmed that that they would be headlining Coachella, they announced plans to make appearances at 40 festivals this year. Over the last few months, those dates have trickled in and, so far, the group has booked more than 20 appearances, according to Consequence of Sound. The most recent additions include a string of European dates, including festival gigs in Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands and Germany. André 3000 and Big Boi have said the reason they are touring so heavily in 2014 is to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary.

“It’s truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose,” Big Boi said in a statement in January. “I’m looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans, stank you smelly much. This is for y’all!”
“Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast,” André said.
The fact that both Big Boi and André 3000 are performing together, however, does not mean that they haven’t stopped working on their own projects. Earlier today, the first footage to feature André playing Jimi Hendrix in the biopic All Is By My Side appeared online. And Big Boi’s contribution to the Game of Thrones mixtape Catch the Throne, a track titled “Mother of Dragons,” also hit the web.
