Outkast and Drake to Co-Headline 2014 OVO Fest

Drake started from the bottom and now the 27-year-old rapper has recruited Outkast to co-headline the fifth installment of his annual OVO Fest this summer. The two-day concert will take place at Toronto’s Molson Canadian Amphitheatre; Outkast will headline on August 3rd and Drake will head up August 4th. Tickets go on sale February 21st.
Drake: High Times at the YOLO Estate
Although the festival poster only hints at “special guests” for both days instead of listing any other artists, Drake has managed to pull off some impressive lineup feats in years past. The 2013 show included Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Diddy and TLC, and, at 2012’s OVO, Drake got support from Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross.
One artist who might not get an invitation to perform at OVO is Macklemore. Drake recently told Rolling Stone that he thought Macklemore’s highly publicized text to Kendrick Lamar after the Grammys – in which Macklemore told Lamar “You got robbed,” when the former won Best Rap Album – was “wack as fuck.” In addition to giving attention only to Lamar and not the other nominees, Drake said of Macklemore, “own your shit.”
“I was like, ‘You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn’t deserve it, go get better — make better music,'” Drake said. “It felt cheap. It didn’t feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?”
