“This song started with a hi-hat from an old Acetone drum machine I’ve had for several years. I spent a few weeks adding and subtracting different sounds and textures before ending up with something that pleased me,” Hayden tells Rolling Stone. “I’m just glad I had the sense to deem it complete before hiring the 10 harp players and the 40 member boys choir I was considering.”
