Odd Future’s Left Brain Charged in Alleged Assault of Female Photographer

Photographer Amy Harris has pressed assault charges against Odd Future‘s Vyron “Left Brain” Turner for allegedly slapping her as she tried to shoot the group during a performance in New Orleans last week. The rappers had denied that Turner hit anyone when they performed at the Voodoo Festival on October 30.
Turner is facing a misdemeanor charge of simple battery for allegedly swatting Harris in the head, knocking the lens cap off her camera and leaving a red mark on her face, Venues Today – the publication Harris was shooting for at the time of the incident – reported Sunday. The offense carries up to a $1,000 fine and up to six months in jail.
In a statement posted on her website Tuesday, Harris announced she was mulling her options. Initially she didn’t want to press charges because she thought an apology from Turner was forthcoming. “The unexpected turn of events, including an attack by Odd Future on my credibility and motives for discussing the incident, have caused me to re-evaluate my initial decision,” part of her statement said.
This wasn’t the only bit of bad news for Odd Future this weekend. The group was also dropped from New Zealand’s Big Day Out festival. Promoters cited “lobbyist groups” for the cancellation. Gay rights groups in Auckland had been protesting the band’s lyrics.
