Creation Records co-founder Alan McGee, who helped set Britpop in motion with the Jesus and Mary Chain, Oasis, My Bloody Valentine and many other bands, is selling his vast collection of memorabilia. The trove includes records, photos, periodicals, artwork, a letter from former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and more.

About 100 lots of McGee’s possessions will be auctioned Saturday, and the former record label boss says there’s plenty more to come. “I’m just clearing all this rock & roll rubbish from my house,” said McGee, who is now devoted to film and writing projects. “I’ve no real interest in the past and have sort of moved on from the music scene.”

McGee’s items will be part of a larger auction of “Madchester” memorabilia, including an early Oasis demo tape, a painting by Stone Roses guitarist John Squire and a piece of the dance floor from the Hacienda nightclub. The auction will also feature a lock of hair and a dental crown belonging to Elvis Presley.
