Noel Gallagher Is ‘F-cking Sad’ That Beady Eye Broke Up

Given the infamous animosity between brothers and former Oasis members Liam and Noel Gallagher, you’d think the sibling rivalry would extend into their post-Oasis careers. However, Noel Gallagher appears genuinely upset that Liam’s Beady Eye broke up suddenly back in October. “I’m very fucking sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work,” Noel Gallagher told Q (via The Hollywood Reporter).
“I’m amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won’t stay out of the limelight for long,” said Noel, whose post-Oasis band the High Flying Birds will release their second LP Chasing Yesterday on March 2nd. “I think Liam should make a solo record – put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it.”
“Beady Eye are no longer. Thanks for all your support,” Liam Gallagher tweeted on October 25th. Since then, the Oasis singer has been tweeting about the English Premier League and posting Drake music videos but has not mentioned his future plans.
The end of Beady Eye hasn’t been a total loss for shoegaze fans, though: When Liam Gallagher’s post-Oasis band broke up, it allowed guitarist Andy Bell – who was also the bassist in Oasis – to reunite with his indie rock outfit Ride. The Nowhere band, which broke up nearly two decades ago, have already announced plans to tour in 2015. However, the Ride reunion likely squashes any Oasis reunion plans.
