Nirvana on Sub Pop Comp
Independent Seattle record label Sub Pop will celebrate its fifteenth anniversary with the compilation album, Terminal Sales — Sub Pop Records 1988-2003: Celebrating 10 Years of Great Records. Sub Pop began in 1988 and helped launch Seattle’s grunge movement, releasing albums from Nirvana, Mudhoney and Soundgarden.
The album, so called because Sub Pop’s offices were originally located in Seattle’s “Terminal Sales Building” is a two-disc chronological collection of greatest hits and rarities from the last fifteen years, including previously unreleased-on-CD tracks and some singles that were originally released as part of Sub Pop’s Singles Club.
Among the artists included are: Sebadoh, Beachwood Sparks, Sunny Day Real Estate, the Shins, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Iron & Wine, Soundgarden, the White Stripes, Ugly Casanova, Les Savy Fav, Hot Hot Heat, Rapeman, Nirvana, the Murder City Devils, Bright Eyes, and Ween.
