Nicki Minaj Bests Aretha Franklin for Most Hot 100 Hits By Female Artist

Nicki Minaj established a new record for most Hot 100 hits by a female artist Monday. Minaj’s three new songs all landed on the Billboard chart, giving the rapper a total of 76 Hot 100 entries, breaking the record of 73 she previously held with Aretha Franklin.
“Man, I tell ya… God said he ain’t done showing off yet. Lol. Walked off stage to find out history was made yet again today,” Minaj wrote on Instagram Monday.
“I now hold the title of most Hot 100 entries in the HISTORY of BILLBOARD among women of EVERY genre. To my fans: I fkn love u guys more than I’ll ever be able to put in words.”
Minaj’s “No Frauds” (Number 14), “Regret in Your Tears” (Number 61) and “Changed It” (Number 71) all debuted in the Hot 100 Monday to give Minaj the record, which the rapper set in only seven years of charting: Her first Hot 100 entry was her February 2010 guest appearance on Lil Wayne’s “Knockout,” Billboard reports.
Despite the 76 Hot 100 singles, Minaj has never reached Number One on the chart, with “Anaconda” her best showing at Number Two. Franklin, however, topped the Hot 100 twice with “Respect” and “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me.” Behind Minaj and Frankin, Taylor Swift is lurking with 70 Hot 100 singles.
Minaj also celebrated her Hot 100 reign in her own unique way:
The cast of Glee holds the record for most Hot 100 appearances with 207, while Lil Wayne holds the record for male artists with 135, although Drake – with 133 – should pass Wayne by this time next week thanks to More Life.
